Character Names on RP-PvP servers – Policy & Guide

The Imperium will be located on an RP-PvP server and there is a naming policy on an RP-PvP server. So it is very important that the Imperium is taken seriously on the server so there will be a naming Policy for Imperium members. If your decide to name your character something that is really ridiculous or against the name policy of funcom or the Imperium, then you run the risk of your character being removed from the guild roster. So I'd like you to take some time and make sure your character name fits into the Hyborian world.

Imperium Naming Policy
=====================
Acceptable:
Your character should be an actually name that would fit in the Hyborian world (see below for the Naming Guide). Since you can only create one name for your character with no spaces you should use your character’s given name. If your character has more then one name or a nick name (ex Dark Slayer) then give your character a given name like Corin and we will roleplay your full name or title In-Game (Example: you would be known as the Cimmerian Corin the Dark Slayer). Try to keeps the name you choose inline with the race he/she comes from (See Naming Guide below)

NOT Acceptable:
- No names that violate Funcoms naming policy (see above)
- No multiple names crammed together into one name.
- No Leet words
- No lingo or acronyms
- No numbers
- No names of objects (example: sword, gun, corvette, etc)
- No High Fantasy like names

PLEASE NOTE: We’re NOT going to be iron fisted over names. We will be fair. As long as the name approximately fits into the Hyborian world then it will pass, but please try to make the name In-line with that character’s cultural background. Having a name that is true to the character’s culture will allow for your character to be taken more seriously on an RP-PvP server. But it is your character and you will need to live with that name. So as long as it is not a ridiculous name or violate any naming rules we will respect your choice.

(IMPORTANT: The naming policy may change from feed back from the Imperium members and Assembly, or changes in Funcoms Naming Policy so try to use common sense when choosing your characters name)


Naming Guide

Hyborian names are borrowed from cultures in real history.

To get an idea about Hyborian character names that have appeared in the Conan stories visit the following links and do a search for “Aquilonia”, “Poit” for Poitain, and “Stygia”. This is little help for Cimmerian names since Cimmerian didn’t appear in the original Conan Stories so skip to Cimmerian Names below.
